New Italy Visa Appointment System for Pakistani Applicants
The Italian Embassy has clarified that applicants must use only the official appointment channels. Anyone following the correct procedure will eventually receive an appointment according to their visa category.
Italy Schengen Visa Appointment
Applicants applying for an Italy Schengen Visa (Short Stay Visa) must submit their application through the official Italy Visa Application Centres.
Currently, applicants can apply from:
- Islamabad
- Lahore
- Multan
- Faisalabad
- Karachi (for applicants residing in Sindh & Balochistan)
- Quetta (for applicants residing in Sindh & Balochistan)
Applicants must book their Italy appointment only through the official Italy Visa appointment portal.
Italy Work Visa Appointment
If you are applying for an Italy Work Visa, your application will also be processed through the Italy Visa Application Centres. Because of exceptionally high demand, the Embassy has introduced a waiting list system.
The Embassy confirmed that:
- Every applicant registered on the waiting list will receive an appointment.
- Buying appointments from agents is unnecessary and discouraged.
Italy Family Reunion Visa
Applicants joining family members in Italy should note that there are two different procedures.
1. Standard Family Reunion Visa
Applications are submitted through the Italy Visa Application Centre. Due to heavy demand, these applications are currently placed on a waiting list before appointments are issued.
2. Family Reunion with an Italian or EU Citizen
This category follows a completely different process. Applicants must request an appointment directly from the Italian Embassy in Islamabad by sending a certified Italian email (PEC).
The Embassy has also clarified that appointment requests should include the required supporting documents such as identity documents and proof of relationship; incomplete requests may not be considered.
Italy Study Visa Process Has Changed
Students planning to study in Italy cannot book appointments directly like regular visa applicants. Instead, they must first complete their pre-enrolment through the Universitaly portal.
Once the university confirms the pre-enrolment:
- BLS/Italy Visa Application Centre will contact the student.
- The visa appointment will then be scheduled automatically.
This means students should not attempt to book a normal Italy appointment for a Italy Study Visa before completing the Universitaly process.
